I am a doctoral candidate in Comparative Literature at UC Riverside; I trained as a biologist (marine ecology) before crossing over to the humanities/dark side. My research interests include science studies, feminist theory, francophone women writers, and online fan cultures, and I'm particularly interested in mashing them together whenever possible. I think online collaborative networks have a place beyond pedagogical methods in the future of academic scholarship.

Nerd lineages: I read Neal Stephenson, Terry Pratchett, Mori Kaoru, Lois McMaster Bujold, Arakawa Hiromu, and Robin McKinley. I'm in grad school because Donna Haraway's writing frustrated me into close-reading "A Cyborg Manifesto" just as I finished my degree. I play Carcassonne, and used to play Go religiously; I also treasure the memory of coming in first on Rainbow Road (Kart wii). Currently watching: Uchuu Kyoudai, Ginga e kickoff!!, Tamako Market, Shirokuma Cafe. Will eventually watch: Chihayafuru 1&2, Zetsuen no Tempest, Gin no Saji.
